Today is the feast day of Saints Simon and Jude (also known as Thaddeus). Both apostles, Simon can be identified by his attribute of the saw, since he was supposedly cut to pieces; and Jude, by his club or carpenter’s rule. St. Simon is the patron saint of tanners; Jude, of desperate cases and lost causes.
