The IAS is actively seeking a speaker for the 2014 IAS/Kress Lecture in Pisa. The Gipsoteca of the Università di Pisa will host the lecture either on 29 May or 16 June depending on availability of the speaker. The speaker must be an established scholar based in North America with a solid publication record. The proposed lecture may address any period in Italian art, but must be related to Pisa and/or its environs in Tuscany. The lecture may be given in Italian or English, should be approximately 45 minutes in length, and may not have been previously published or presented at another conference or venue. The selected presenter will receive an honorarium of $700 and a $900 supplementary lecture allowance, which can be used for travel, lodging, or translation expenses.The presenter must be a current member of the Italian Art Society. Proposals should include a letter of introduction, a one-page abstract of the paper to be delivered, and a current CV.
