Starting today, Venice begins its annual celebration of Carnival (Carnevale) when the city bursts with color, light, and fanfare as costumed individuals wander around town and the food, masquerade balls, and nightly entertainment spill out onto the streets, providing ample enjoyment to tourists and locals alike.
