Opening Today: Museo della Follia. Da Goya a Bacon @ MuSa Museo di Salò, Salò, 11 March – 19 Novemeber 2017

“A repertoire with no proclamations, no manifestos, no complaints. Men and women like us, unfortunate, humiliated, isolated. And still alive in incredulous despair of their looks. Condemned without guilt, convicted without committing crimes, only for the fate of being different, that is individual. In art history, even before the sensational cases of Van Gogh and Ligabue, there are many artists whose mind is crossed by the disturbance, who express themselves in a visionary and hallucinated language. Each of them has a story, a dimension that does not fit within the reality, but within a dream. And that dream, with full satisfaction, is represented beyond any torment.” (Vittorio Sgarbi)
