Officer/Committee Vacancies

ITALIAN ART SOCIETY ELECTIONS 2020

Any member of the IAS may be nominated or self-nominated to any of the vacancies noted below.

Each nominee must submit a current CV as well as an IAS Nomination Form that includes a statement of interest (150 words maximum) indicating the position to which s/he is being nominated. When you save the form, please include the last name of the nominee as part of the file name.

A nominee who is interested in more than one position should indicate order of preference. The deadline for nominations is 15 November 2019. Inquiries and nominations can be sent to the Nominating Committee Chair at president@italianartsociety.org. BOARD OF DIRECTORS (2-year term):

Treasurer: The Treasurer is the principal accounting and financial officer of the IAS. S/he is responsible for the maintenance of the IAS account books, and for the preparation of an annual fiscal report. The Treasurer has charge and custody of all IAS funds and securities, and is responsible for their receipt and disbursement.

COMMITTEES (3-year terms):

Awards Committee: The Awards Committee awards grants to graduate students, recent PhDs, and international scholars to support presentations on Italian art at any conference where the IAS is sponsoring a session (CAA, ICMS/Kalamazoo, RSA, SCSC, and SAH)

Emerging Scholars Committee (ESC):

The ESC is charged with creating opportunities and resources for graduate students and emerging scholars. Please note, membership in the ESC is limited to current graduate students and those who have received a graduate degree within the last four years.

Membership, Outreach, & Development Committee:

The Membership, Outreach & Development Committee is charged with growing and diversifying our membership and visibility in keeping with our mission to foster the study and appreciation of Italian art from prehistory to the present.

Program Committee:

The Program Committee shepherds IAS-sponsored conference sessions from inception to completion.

The nominating committee solicits and vets nominations for open officer, board, committee, and communication positions

 COMMUNICATIONS TEAM (3-year terms):

Newsletter Assistants: Newsletter Assistants will help gather information – including news, exhibition listings, and member publication details – for each issue of the Newsletter. They will also assist the editor with soliciting content, layout, editing, and proofreading, as needed.

Social Media Coordinator: The Social Media Coordinator manages the IAS presence on FaceBook, Twitter, and Academia.edu. Please follow us on these sites!

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The Italian Art Society will solicit nominations to fill vacant positions for Board officers and committee members. Candidates must be IAS members at the time of their nomination; all members, including student members, are eligible for nomination. Officers hold two-year terms; committee members, three. Elections will be held in mid-January by the membership via online ballot. New terms of office begin in February after the IAS business meeting at the College Art Association annual conference. Vacancies are listed below and on the Italian Art Society website at www.italianartsociety.org. Please see the website for full position descriptions.
 
Nominating Process

Each nominee must submit a current CV as well as an IAS Nomination Form that includes a statement of interest (150 words max.) indicating the position to which s/he is being nominated. When you save the form, please include the last name of the nominee as part of the file name. A nominee who is interested in more than one position should indicate order of preference. The annual deadline for nominations is normally in November, but inquiries and nominations can be sent to the Nominating Committee Chair at any time at nominations@italianartsociety.org
