Italo-Argentine artist Lucio Fontana died on this day in 1968. Fontana spent his youth between Buenos Aires and Milan. Fontana worked in a variety of media, developing the movement known as Spazialismo, which he promoted through writings and works like his various pieces entitled “Spatial Concept.” Fontana won Grand Prize for Painting at the 1966 Venice Biennale.
