Happy Birthday Giulio Paolini! The Italian conceptual artist was born on this day in 1940 in Genoa. Associated with the Arte Povera movement, Paolini grew up in Bergamo and Turin, where he resides today. Paolini’s work focuses on the basic elements of composition – support, frame, color. After this Minimalist phase, Paolini turned to other media, especially favoring photography, which he uses to explore not only art-making but also its history.
