Untying ‘The Knot’: The State of Postwar Italian Art History Today
February 9-10, 2015
Center for Italian Modern Art Co-sponsored by CIMA and the Italian Art Society
Organized by renowned Rosso scholar and art historian Sharon Hecker and art historian and professor at Keene State College Marin R. Sullivan
This two-day event will evaluate the current state of the field of postwar Italian art history and highlight alternative methodologies for future inquiry. The symposium, held at CIMA in the days leading up to the College Art Association’s Annual Conference in New York, will include presentations by many prominent international scholars and roundtable discussions—comprehensively exploring the most pressing issues and questions driving postwar Italian art history on both sides of the Atlantic today. Tours of the Rosso installation led by CIMA’s fellows will also be offered.
