Architect Giovanni Michelucci was born on 2 January 1891 in Pistoia. After completing his studies in Florence in 1914, Michelucci designed a number of private and public buildings. He is best known for the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence, his first major work, and his Brutalist Post Office in Via Verdi.
