Architect Adamo Boari was born 22 October 1863 in Ferrara.  After graduating with a degree in engineering from the University of Bologna, he continued studies in the United States.

From there he received several important commissions in Mexico City, including the Edificio Central de Correos (1902–7), which was the first Mexican building to utilize reinforced concrete. Boari returned to Italy in 1916 and died at Rome twelve years later.
