Fri. June 4, 2pm - 3:15pm - R19 - ROUNDTABLE

Organizers: Giuditta Cirnigliaro, Roma Tre University; Angelica Federici, Roma Tre University

Chair: Alberto Iozzia, University of Pittsburgh

Roundtable format

Researchers and artists from different fields reflect on the notions of bodies of water and man-made natural disasters, which relate to climate change, migration waves, visual and textual representation of water bodies, apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic literature and film, spatial and temporal evolution of wave patterns, evolution of representation of nature, ecological awareness, technology versus environment. By employing an interdisciplinary and transcultural perspective, this session will focus on images and literature related to water, ultimately to reflect on their circulation across different contexts and investigate their impact on society.
