Francesco Vanni: Art in Late Renaissance Siena, on view through 5 January at Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, CT, is reviewed today in the New York Times. Vanni was Siena’s preeminent artist at the dawn of the Baroque era and a key figure in Italian Counter-Reformation painting. This exhibition, the first monographic treatment of Vanni, includes over 60 paintings and drawings by Vanni, as well as many prints following his designs.
