The Center for Italian Modern Art will open in New York in February 2014 at 421 Broome Street. Its first exhibition will offer a retrospective of Fortunato Depero (1892-1960), a Futurist artist who lived in New York from 1928 to 1930 and again in 1947. Best known for his design for the Campari Soda bottle (1932), Depero co-wrote the Futurist Manifesto “Ricostruzione futurista dell’universo” (Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe) with Giacomo Balla in 1915.
