Today authorities will repossess an ancient Roman sarcophagus lid that was set to go on sale at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan. Currently in a Queens warehouse, the statue is claimed by Italian officials who assert that the sculpture was looted in the 1970s or ‘80s. Tom Mashberg reports in the New York Times.
