As another tourist season gets into full swing, Venice once again struggles to manage large crowds and the immense ships that bring them to the city for day trips. A 2013 decision to reduce big ship traffic by 12.5% and a ban on the largest, those over 94,000 gross tons, have been suspended by a regional tribunal pending a hearing scheduled for mid-June.
