Compton Verney holds one of the richest collections of Neapolitan art in the world outside of Naples, but it is little known and little studied. This event turns the spotlight of scholarship onto the collection in relation to important new research on Naples, focused on issues of colonialism within Europe, telluric philosophy, skin and surfaces. Papers will be presented by Helen Hills, Joris van Gastel, Letizia Treves, Josephine Neil and Bogdan Cornea. It is hoped that gallery visits will be conducted by PhD students from WRoCAH (White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities). More information.
